With over 14 years of experience performing and songwriting in bands and acoustic duos, and 7+ years of private teaching under his belt, Josh offers a rich blend of real-world playing experience and personalised instruction. He holds a BA (Hons) in Professional Music and teaches students of all ages and skill levels.
Josh specialises in a variety of genres—including rock, pop, blues, country, and jazz—and can help you master everything from improvisation and solo writing to rhythm playing and music theory.
Outside of teaching, Josh is the lead guitarist, co-writer, and backing vocalist for Brighton-based rock band CLAYTREE, who have received airplay on BBC Introducing Sussex & Surrey, Planet Rock, and Absolute Radio.
Josh’s teaching philosophy is simple: anyone can learn to play the guitar. His lessons focus on proper posture, relaxed technique, and a clear understanding of music theory—giving you the best chance of developing lasting, enjoyable guitar skills.
