Ruth – singing and trumpet teacher

Ruth is currently studying BA music at University of Bristol. Trumpet is her first study instrument, but she also sings to a high level, having achieved ABRSM Grade 8 in both. At university, she plays in the Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Winds and the Brass Band which she is the manager of for the coming year.
At home, Ruth enjoyed taking part in a variety of ensembles in school, as well as being a member of Surrey Advanced Brass Ensemble and The Oxted Band. Ruth was also teacher to 5 trumpet students, ranging from beginners to grade 5 in ability. She has experience in taking these students through a number of ABRSM grades, which is a process she is familiar with. As well as this, she ran her school’s brass band during sixth form and mentored people of all ages in The Oxted Training Band. Teaching is something Ruth very much enjoys and is eager to pass on her passion for music to new students.
