Lee – guitar teacher

Described by the Musician’s Union as “one of the UK’s most exciting and versatile musicians” Lee Westwood is a guitarist and composer whose works span from the multimedia Music-Geometry exhibition ‘A Hidden Order’ (Saatchi Gallery; Arts Council) to a vast back-catalogue of intimate works for solo guitar; from headlining festival stages with Hip-Hop groups (Dizraeli & The Small Gods) to commissions and performances from some of the UK’s leading soloists, ensembles and choirs (LSO; Riot Ensemble; BBC 2). Lee has toured his own music extensively throughout Europe, sharing the stage with many of the UK’s leading guitarists and folk acts.

Alongside over a decade of experience in private tuition, Lee is currently visiting music tutor at Cumnor House School and University Of Sussex, where he also teaches on the Undergraduate degree courses. He has extensive experience running workshops and masterclasses in guitar, composition, performance and music/geometry, with groups ranging from 4 years to adult.

Lee’s lessons offer coaching in a wide range of styles and musical fundamentals, including Classical, Rock/Pop, Blues, Jazz, Folk/Fingerstyle, music theory, improvisation, composition and performance skills. Whether you are keen to build firm foundations through grades, would like to begin writing your own music, or develop the skills required to join a band, Lee’s lessons offer the breadth and flexibility to tailor personally to each student’s needs and interests.
