Jo – cello teacher

Jo has decades of experience teaching cello to children and adults in and around Guildford.  Here is an excerpt from her mission statement…

‘Whilst endeavouring to make the learning process as entertaining as possible, at the same time there needs to be a perceived structure to the teaching so that the pupil, teacher and parent have clearly delineated objectives and goals. This includes essential work to develop finger strength, stamina and focus on certain technical points. These issues are constant for every level of teaching that is undertaken. The practice ‘menu’ should be carefully partitioned into areas of study to include scales, studies, a new piece (s), and a work(s) being polished for performance or an exam – and of course lighter material to be done at the end for fun.’
