Emily deeply enjoys teaching and strives for her lessons to be fun, engaging, and rewarding. She believes that good technique is grounded in the basics: breath and posture. She believes communication is vital to music performance and stresses this in her lessons through implementing good diction and engagement with the text. She believes that everyone can and should have the opportunity to sing, and aims to tailor her classes to each student’s needs and interests. Emily has experience teaching both classical and musical theatre repertoire, but also enjoys working on jazz, pop, and folk repertoire. Emily is a professional operatic soprano and holds a master’s degree in music from Oxford University.
