David is a composer and pianist reading music at Worcester College, Oxford. He is the President of the Oxford University Music Society, and holds an instrumental scholarship and a scholarship to perform with Ensemble ISIS – the university’s contemporary music ensemble. Currently, David studies piano with Ronan O’Hora, Head of Keyboard Studies and Advanced Performance Studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Before Oxford, David studied at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music, where he was awarded the Peter Redfearn Memorial Prize for Composition (2014), the Director’s Prize (2015), and the Friends of the Junior RNCM Ensemble Prize (2016). David was also awarded the Margaret Thomas Junior Piano Composition Award (2014) by the Penrith Piano Circle. In 2014/15 and 2015/16, David was a composer for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
